What is custom embroidery?
Custom Embroidery means that your logo or artwork is stitched onto a garment of your choice. The first step in embroidery is digitizing a design. You send us a representation of your artwork (or hire us to design something for you) and we turn that artwork into coding that our embroidery machines can understand. Digitizing a design tells the computer how many stitches to use in a design, how many colours are used in a design and what size the design should be. What do you mean by 10,000 stitches?
Many embroidery designs are placed on the left chest of a garment and are typically between 7,000 and 10,000 stitches. If your design is more than 10,000, we charge a modest fee for each 1,000 stitches in the design.
What type of equipment do you use?Sportop uses top-of-the-line custom embroidery equipment. Currently,
we have over 48 heads of embroidery equipment which means that we can
produce 48 items simultaneously.
Do you offer any packaging?
Where on the garment can my designs be stitched?
Do you design logos or other artwork?Yes, Sportop has an art department dedicated to the production of custom logos and artwork. Stock EmbroiderySportop carries over 6,500 pre-made embroidery designs. Almost any generic image you can think of is available. After a stock design is chosen, we can program in words to go above, beside, below or around the chosen design. Stock embroidery is less expensive than custom embroidery. Our stock embroidery designs are ordered from Dakota Collectibles . To view the designs available, go to http://www.dakotacollectibles.com/ click on the squirrel on the main page, then click on design center, scroll to the bottom of that page and click on design search. Here is an example of an embroidery design that was found when searching the keyword golf at Dakota Collectibles.
If our company already owns the design already, you would only be charged for stitching. However, if the embroidery design has to be ordered for you from Dakota, you would have to pay for acquiring the design as well.
