SCREENPRINTING
1:Order is placed
2: produce artwork from:
A) either emailed by customer,
B) brought in by customer,
C) or customer explains what he or she wants.
3: Vector artwork is required. Customers who already have artwork will email it to the Art Department. If a customer does not have a vector graphic we use the bitmap graphic as a guide and create vector art from it.
4: mock up artwork on garments stating the size, dimensions of imprint,
type of imprint, colours and garment colors
5: email customer artwork approval
6: if needed make revisions that customer requests
7: Separate film
A) assign PMS colours so that each colour will print out separately
B) register artwork according to where its being printed
C) print on film
D) clean film but filling in any holes or scratching out parts that do
not need to be there
E) put in folder , label folder, place with art copy and colour print
out
F) mark art done in the computer system
G) put into production to be produced.
8: Burn art to screens
9: Wash out screens
10: use artwork to line up all colours on screens
11: put ink on screens
12: test print
13: print items
14: send through dryer to cure ink
15: fold items
16: box items counting to make sure all items are there
17: put label on box
18: mark order done in computer system
19: place box in area accordingly to ship method i.e.: Courtesy, MNM,
P.V., or customer pick up
EMBROIDERY
1: get the order
2: produce artwork from:
A) either emailed by customer
B) brought in by customer
C) sales explaining what the customer wants
D) we have creative freedom to create what we want.
3: Using vector artwork stitches are applied using software that
creates a sew file/ pattern. This is called punching the pattern/ logo.
4: All stitches are applied and sample is ran out
5: adjustments are made if necessary
6: once a successful sew out is produced the customer and sales contact
is shown for approval
7: once approved the pattern is marked art done in the computer system
and put into production.
8: in production, the stock is pulled, unpacked and counted
9: hoop the garments
10: put on machine
11: get the disk and load pattern
12: hook up the threads for the logo, pick colours on ocassion
13: write an instruction sheet with the colours that have been used
14: run the order
15: file the art copy and other paperwork in folder
16: mark order in trimming in computer system
17: In trimming, cut out backing, trim extra threads and clean off
stray threads
18: fold garments
19: count and size garments
20 : pack order accordingly to specified shipping instructions
21: mark order produced in computer system
22: place box in area accordingly to ship method i.e.: Courtesy, MNM,
P.V., or customer pick up.
